In Thanksgiving Break 2016, I was able to travel to Paris, Rome, Venice, and Morano. To be honest, if someone asked me what was my favorite destination, I would say that I wouldn't have one. Every place out of that list I went to had a charm of it's own.
Paris: The warm crepes melting into your mouth as you take the first bite.
Rome: The saints watching over you as they guard The Vatican.
Venice: The fresh smell of sea water as you jump off of the water taxi "Ahh Venice."
Morano: The soon to be made glass being placed into the flaming hot mantel.
I was only 15 at the time. I was still in 7th Grade. I have never traveled so far away from home before on plane. I have on cruise ships, but that is completely different (I guess. Lol). On the last day of school before Thanksgiving Break, I was picked up and was brought home to finish packing. Once I finished packing, the three of us (Me, my dad, and sister) got on our way to the airport.
It was now evening and our flight was around 7 pm. It was straight through. Our first stop was Paris, France. I only known things about the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre, and after watching "The Da Vinci Code", I was definitely excited, even though it's just a fantasy/thriller book by Dan Brown. I honestly like "Angels and Demons" out of the entire series.
I went to a private Catholic middle school and I decided to bring "Angels and Demons" with me to read during class if I have any free time. I wasn't reading it, but in science class, I had it in between my binder and folder, and my science teacher gave me this "how dare you look" at me. I wasn't sure on what to do. Should I hide the book? But where would I put it? We weren't allowed to carry backpacks. (We were supposed to put them in our lockers before class.) I just ignored her and she didn't do anything so I assume it wasn't a big deal. I often wonder what would of happened if I got in trouble for reading "Angels and Demons." I think it would be stupid. It's just a fantasy/thriller book! It's not real! All respect to Catholics, but come on. Again, it was probably nothing, so don't take this personally ;)
