An Unexpected Party

On our third day in Auckland, New Zealand, we were able to got to the Hobbiton movie set.

We woke up around 9 am and got breakfast at a little cafe after we started driving after an hour.

When we arrived to Hobbiton a few hours later, we went to the main area where you can get tickets. My dad pre-ordered them the night before, but you can still get tickets the day you arrive. Once we got the tickets, we waited for a couple minutes until the bus came. It was a large, green, charter bus with the Hobbiton movie set logo. An employee took our tickets and we entered the bus.

After everyone got in the bus, our tour guide introduced her self to us and we started getting our way to the movie set.

The tour guide talked to us as we explored Hobbiton.

The tour guide just told us some cool facts about the set and how it was used during filming.

* Example: Most Hobbit Holes didn't have anything in them, most of the scenes were filmed in a studio.

The tour guide even let us step inside an empty Hobbit Hole to see if we were a Wizard or a Hobbit. (I was a Hobbit. Lol)

After we toured the rest of Hobbiton, we went to The Green Dragon Inn. We were able to get drinks for free. There were also non-alcoholic drinks for people under 21. Since I'm under 21, I just got the regular drink that was for free.

And yes, I am currently reading "The Return of The King."

The drink was just Apple Cider.

We were able to hang out at The Green Dragon Inn for a couple minutes, and then we had to head back to the bus. The ride back to the main area only took a couple minutes.

I'd give the tour and movie set a 8/10. It was really cool to walk through a movie set for the first time.
